ABOUT
What is digital literacy?
Digital literacy is defined by the The American Library Association (ALA) as “the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.”
To KEA, it is a skillset that combines technical knowledge with critical thinking, enabling students to interact with digital content confidently and responsibly. At KEADigi, we focus on teaching students how to harness technology for learning, creativity, and personal expression.
Why does it matter?
Digital literacy is crucial in a world where technology impacts nearly every aspect of daily life. Being digitally literate means knowing how to use digital tools responsibly and recognizing credible information in a sea of data. Developing these skills helps students think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively, all of which are essential for academic and future career success.
How do students benefit?
Through KEADigi’s curriculum, students gain hands-on experience with digital graphics, animation, video production, and sound creation. These activities enhance creativity and build problem-solving and analytical skills. By exploring these areas, students not only learn how to create digital content but also become equipped to navigate the online world safely and make informed decisions. This foundation prepares them for future educational and professional opportunities, fostering lifelong learning and adaptability.
